My name is Adrian Ward and I have been an entrepreneur in the MLM Marketing industry for 11 years. When I first got started I had a successful Financial Advisory business but I worked 60-70 hours per week and had no life! I even had to work weekends and my business was sucking the life out of me! And despite all my efforts I was earning a miserable $50 - $70K a year!
One of my clients invited me to a business presentation but when he told me it was a mlm opportunity my mind snapped shut...I was very skeptical about mlm.
However, my client had quite a lot of money invested with me so to appease my client I agreed to go along to the business presentation with the intention of saying "Thanks, but no thanks " at the end. Now to my surprise at the presentation was Robert Allen # 1 Best Selling author of "Nothing Down", Creating Wealth", Multiple Streams Of Income" and more recently co-author of "The One Minute Millionaire". I had read some of Robert Allen’s material and discovered he was in a successful mlm internet business! Robert explained how he too had been initially skeptical but explained that these were great quality products and the business model provided an excellent opportunity to use "leverage" but more importantly to create "residual income". He said it was one of the top mlm companies.
To cut a long story short after doing my due diligence I decided to get started with the mlm business opportunity. At the beginning I could only devote 8-10 hours a week to the business. It started slowly but then the leverage kicked in by me helping others to succeed and within 2 years I was able to sell my Financial Advisory business and did my mlm home business fulltime. Except I no longer worked 60-70 hours per week.
Before I was a slave to my Financial Advisory business. I was now making more money but spending less time to do this business.
Here’s what life looked like for my beautiful wife Leslie and I….
We went from owning a very modest 3 bedroom home (well the bank really owned the home) to living in a brand new 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 3 living room home surrounded by other executive homes and we were mortgage free!
I used to drive a Honda Integra and my wife drove a beat up Honda Prelude. Both cars were over 12 years old. Next thing I’m driving a Mercedes E280 and my wife got a BMW Series 5.
We got to travel a lot to far off places that we had only dreamed of visiting before.
I’m not telling you this to impress you but to impress upon you what’s possible in this industry. I thought I had discovered the mlm secrets and had become an mlm pro.
Then disaster struck
People started leaving my mlm downline and I was constantly having to backfill to replace those who had left my downline! I may be somewhat of a slow learner, but eventually (just like everyone else who builds real wealth in this mlm marketing industry) I too figured out that nearly everything I had been doing before was a complete waste of time. I put myself through a lot of unnecessary rejection and embarrassment.
Yes I did have mlm success as I’ve just outlined but almost everything the MLM Marketing Industry teaches you about mlm prospecting, recruiting, and sponsoring people is completely useless.
Not only is it useless, it was actually destroying my business and any chance of continued success.

I was serious so I devoured everything I could get my hands on about network marketing. I...
- Read all the books...
- Listened to audios non-stop in my car...
- Never missed a company training...
- Was on every team call and attended every opportunity meeting...
- Went to ALL the events...
- Milked my upline for mlm tips and every drop of wisdom and advice I could get from them...
- Plastered my house with goal cards and pictures of all the stuff I wanted to do when I was "making it"...
- And... most importantly... I did everything I was told to do, exactly the way I was told to do it.
Redid my names list... contacted everyone on it... showed the plan... called some leads... drove all over creation... did three way calls... passed out videos... set coffee appointments (hey, at least it's a business expense!)... called some more leads... did home meetings (lots of them)... SHOWED THE PLAN... brought people to hotel meetings (the people you pick up show up, right?)... passed out business cards... showed the plan some more... prospected everyone with a pulse... used the referral approach... practically wore the numbers off my phone calling more leads... the whole deal. (Did I mention I showed the plan?)
Even became the top retailer for my company not once but twice! I was a real "go getter." You know, the kind of distributor you'd kill to have in your mlm downline.
There was only one minor problem.
After 2 years of busting my tail, I wasn't any closer to producing a "leveraged income" that everyone talks about. You know, that “walk away income”.
Sure, I had a decent size mlm downline going. But felt myself sliding backwards even though I had had great success for the first few years!
I could not, for the life of me, understand why it wasn't working like it was before! I was doing everything they told me to do at the beginning and then some!
At the end of 2 grueling years I was...
- Disgusted by the "fake it 'till you make it" Thursday night hotel meetings where everyone puts on a happy face even though no one's going anywhere.
- Fed up with my upline telling me to just "talk to more people" or "call more leads" when I knew that wasn't the real problem.
- Frustrated that no matter how hard I tried to lead by example my people just wouldn't duplicate me. And...
- Had spent myself into a hole buying mlm business opportunity leads that might as well have been numbers straight out of the phone book and then shelling out for expensive corporate "training" that did nothing but "pump me up" and talk about how great the company was.

I knew there had to be a better way to do it. There was no way it could be this hard.
So here's what happened.
One day when I was surfing the internet looking for a solution to internet mlm marketing I stumbled onto a guy who was making $50,000 a month doing some online mlm business thing. I filled out a form on his website and waited for him to call me back. I told him my situation and said I was burnt out with my current mlm business opportunity and told him I wanted to earn $50,000 a month. Just kidding really because I did not really think that was possible. He said, “Sure I can show you how to do that.” He talked about going after your target market." (A term that's completely foreign in mlm marketing).
Hmmm, interesting concept.
I had hit rock bottom at that point so there was only one thing for me to do.
I started doing the exact opposite of what my Upline had taught me.
After all, I tried it "their way"... and guess what?
"Their way" worked in the beginning years but after that almost cost me my sanity!
